For this project, I created imagery to express a historical event in less than 15 words, using only those words and few lines. I chose to tell the story of the assassination of John Lennon. In order to execute this I formed the words in the shape of a gun and turned the trigger into a guitar to express both elements of who he was and how his life ended. I chose a bold san serif to express the heaviness and seriousness of the event I was expressing.
This exercise involved expressing the action or meaning of a word using only the letters in the word. For ballet, I chose a thin san serif inspired by Beyond the Barre and Boston Ballet logos. The double L in the word Ballet are meant to look like a dancer’s legs in first position
I duplicated the C in conviction to form handcuffs and used various opacities to layer the cuffs. I used this particular serif typeface because it feels very professional.
